Homeopathic Remedy-Duration And Its Relationship With The Other Categories

.

According to Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, to speed up the cure, a patient may need to be given a repeat dose at suitable intervals, in case the first dose only produces a slow amelioration.

That's why learnin
g about the duration and relationship of any homeopathic remedy with the remedies of other categories is very important for successful speed up of homeopathic cures.

In all there are six important categories of homeopathic remedies namely the
compatible remedies, the collateral remedies, the complementary remedies, the similar remedies, the incompatible or inimical remedies, and the antidote remedies, to help you decide when to repeat the dose at appropriate interval of time or if the need so arise, when to administer a different remedy that should follow well to the previously given drug for a successful cure.

A remedy chart showing abbreviated names of remedies (shortened names of medicines) as well as full names of commonly used homeopathic remedies and also showing time duration of their effectiveness and their relationship with each other as well as with remedies of its other categories is being appended here.

Brief introductory and explanatory notes about the headings of coloumns of the appended remedy-chart are given hereunder for you to be able to fully understand the meanings and uses thereof:

Duration of Remedy:

Duration of remedy refers to the time-period till which the curative effect of a homeopathic remedy will last. Repeating a dose or giving another remedy to a patient before-time may stop or hamper the process of healing. It is, therefore, advisable to wait till the end of duration of action-of-the-remedy before deciding for a repeat dose or for giving another remedy if the need so arise.

Remedy Relationships:

Remedy relationships are derived from similarity of origin, similarity of action. The second drug completes the cure which the earlier drug had begun but is unable to finish the healing process.

Modalities of Remedies:

Modalities of remedies refers to the listing of conditions under which a patient feels worse or bett
er. Modalities can be used for all conditions, acute as well as the chronic. To view the modalities of any remedy from the appended remedy chart, just click at the link of abbreviation of the related remedy provided in the 1st left-hand-side column of the remedy-chart, namely "Abbreviation of Medicine".

.
Compatible Remedies:

Compatible remedies refers to a remedy which follows well to the previously given remedy. Compatible remedies are shown in Blue color in the
remedy chart.

.

Collateral Remedies:

Collateral Remedies refers to a remedy that belongs to the same category and runs parallel to the previously given remedy. Collateral remedies are shown in Red color in the
remedy chart.

.
Complementary Remedies:

Complementary remedies refers to a finish-the-job kind of remedy. A remedy which continues and completes the half-finished process of cure which was initially begun by the action of previously given drug, but it was unable to finish. Complementary remedies are shown in Magenta Red color in the
remedy chart.

.
Similar Remedies:

Similar remedies refer to a remedy suggested for purpose of comparison because of similarity to the previously given remedy, generally compatible. Similar remedies are shown in Coffee color in the
remedy chart.

.

Incompatible or Inimical Remedies:

Incompatible or inimical remedies refers to a remedy which does not follow or precede well to the previously given drug.

.
Antidote Remedies:

Antidote remedies refers to a remedy that neutralizes or counteracts the poisonous or harmful effects, if any, of the previously given remedy. Dr. Hahnemann says, an able homeopath will never need to antidote his given drug, because he has given a
right remedy, but in a must-antidote situation, he will use the lower potency of the same drug.
